These contraptions are for your boots
Yorkshire Water have installed three boot scrapers at Baitings dam.
The idea is that you scrape your footwear on entering the site to prevent cross contamination, and then once again when you leave the site to clean off anything you may have picked up on the soles of your shoes.
All three of the scrapers footings have a little ramp of wood to allow small widllife to climb out of the base if they fall in by accident.
In further good news, Yorkshire Water have also agreed to empty the bin three times a week, so we should quickly see an improvement in the refuse situation.
