Brownies learn leadership and horticultural skills
2nd Ripponden Rishworth St John’s Brownies have replanted the circular garden at Birch Avenue in Rishworth after receiving a grant for a horticultural project from the Parish Council.
The grant helped to purchase bulbs and plants for the garden, gardening equipment for the brownies, and hi-vis jackets to enable the girls to walk to the garden safely.
The Birch garden was the first major project that the Brownies had taken on since the Pandemic, and it not only enabled the younger girls to learn more about horticulture, but also provided leadership opportunities for the young leaders in the pack.
