Marking our heritage
The newly-renovated K6 telephone box on Rochdale Road now has three new “Ripponden” signs in the top panels — a perfect finishing touch to this year-long glow-up of a local piece of iconic British design.
Interesting fact: the K6 was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Coronation of King George V in 1935. In eleven years, the design will be 100 years old.
