Only take a bag if you need it.

Ripponden Parish Council supplies dog poo bags in dispensers around the parish so that any dog owners who find themselves without a dog poo bag can pick their pet’s waste safely.

Unfortunately, we have learnt that some individuals are emptying the dispensers as soon as they are filled, taking ten or more bags in one go.

Please do not do this.

The Parish Council-supplied dog poo bags are for Emergency Use Only. We supply them so that if you find yourself without a poo bag because you’ve left your poo bag roll in another coat, or you realise you only have one bag left and it has a tear in it, you can still pick up your dog’s waste. We do not supply them so you don’t have to buy any at the supermarket anymore.

The Parish Council spends hundreds of pounds every year on emergency dog poo bags and dispensers in an attempt to keep our pavements and parks free from dog poo.

The highest percentage of complaints we receive concern dog fouling in local recreation areas. Residents deserve to be able to use our parks, path and streets without having to tiptoe through a minefield of mess.

Only take a dog poo bag if you really need it.
