About small grants

Ripponden Parish Council has a limited annual budget for the award of grants to local groups and organisations.

We can only award grants using certain legal powers. These legal powers allow the Council to provide funding for specific activities or projects that we feel will benefit Ripponden Parish.

Where no specific power is available, the Parish Council may decide to use its power under Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972 to award a grant that it believes will benefit some or all of the residents of the Parish or some or all of the area.

We consider grant applications at Full Council meetings. As such, the Parish Council clerk must receive applications and any supporting documentation at least ten days before a meeting to allow time to check an applicant has met the Council’s grants criteria.

Please read the Small Grant Application Pack before making an application. You will find the application form at the back of the pack.
